2. Data We Process
- Event data: name, date, event type, notes, reminder settings
- Optional timezone, templates, language/theme preferences
- Optional event photos selected by you
- Contact data only when permission is granted (name, phone, birthday, contact photo)
3. Why We Process This Data
Data is processed to provide app features such as quick-add from contacts, reminder notifications, event detail views, templates, and local backup/restore.
4. Permissions
- READ_CONTACTS: used for contact import features when you choose to use them
- Notifications: used for reminder alerts
- Camera/Photos/Media: used when you attach event images
- Alarm/Battery-related capabilities: used to keep reminders reliable on supported devices
You can revoke permissions at any time in device settings. Related features may stop working until permission is granted again.
5. Storage and Sharing
Bday is local-first. Personal app data is stored on your device. We do not sell personal data and do not require a cloud account to use core features.
If you use external apps (SMS, WhatsApp, Phone), those services are governed by their own privacy policies.
6. Notifications and Backups
Reminder notifications are generated from local event data. Backup files are created locally and controlled by you.
7. Your Controls
- Edit or delete events at any time
- Disable reminders per event
- Revoke permissions in system settings
- Uninstall the app to remove app data (subject to OS behavior)

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
